H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani is the primary sponsor for the 54th Annual Western States 100 Mile One Day Trail Ride (Tevis Cup race and Haggin Cup Award) that will be taken place July 19, 2008.

"Endurance had its beginning because of the Tevis Cup 54 years ago under the guidance and vision of Wendall Robie."

The race is an endurance ride on a 100-mile trail from Lake Tahoe, California to Auburn, Washington within 24 hours.

The Tevis Cup trophy is granted to the rider who completes the 100 Mile One Day course in the shortest amount of time and whose horse is in fit condition to continue.
