An ancient proverb says, “He who is similar to his father is not an oppressor.” H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani has inherited more than just his altruistic nature from his late father, H.E. Sheikh Suhaim Bin Hamad Al Thani. He calls his father a great school that he is continually learning from; learning traits such as loyalty, compassion and sincerity.

In honor of his late father, H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani has founded the Sheikh Suhaim Bin Hamad Al Thani Fellowship Fund at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. The Fellowship commemorates the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

An accomplished poet, H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani began writing poetry as an expression of his grief over the death of his father, and also sees it as a form of political expression. He has been published throughout the world and has won many accolades for his work. As a successful businessman, he owns and operates hospitality and manufacturing companies, and real estate Investment firms in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, France, Britain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and a racing stable which is at the forefront of the annual Qatari competition. Endurance National Ride, Qatar International Endurance Ride, and Qatar National Day Cup, as well as having the Best Conditioned Horse at the Endurance National Ride.

H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani’s philanthropic activites include his work with the Children’s Cultural Center and the building of mosques and other charitable projects in various Arab and Islamic countries. Currently he is working on the launch of the "Sultan World Foundation Charity and Cultural Establishment," to benefit the areas of culture, literature, sports, science and humanitarian relief throughout the world.

H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in 2005, and a campus auditorium was named in his honor. Prior to attending Cairo University, H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani studied at schools in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Suhaim Al Thani will visit the United States, specifically the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and subsequently Washington, DC, to announce the Sheikh Suhaim Bin Hamad Al Thani Fellowship Fund.
